and the music plays the band
Yes, the X-Factor is alive and thriving in this show. It's so great to hear first-ever versions played so well out-of-the-gate, Estimated and Terrapin. I wonder why this show has never been released commercially by now. The performance quality certainly qualifies it- -could be due to the lyric misses in Franklin's Tower.
You won't find a more aggressive "Around & Around" anywhere. One of those rockers where you think Bobby's going to blow the roof off the joint, and ruin his vocal chords for good.

My First G.D. Show
I hitchhiked thirty miles from Arrowbear to see this show. It was so nice to be able to just walk up to the stage and cruise around where I wanted. I was thrilled to be able to see the guys (and girl) live. On my ride hitchhiking back, the driver got out of the car to help someone and the car started rolling backward down the highway. I leaped from the back seat and hit the brake pedal with my hand. A fun and exciting day all around. Scott

i'm confused as to the reviewer's replies below me. it's seems that they agree with CH by replying "no", but then go on to dispute him?
i'm sort of with Cliff, this is a strong show, but just a bit overrated perhaps? i personally really dig the Help>Slip, Eyes>Dancin' and of course the Playin' is one of the best.
the debut performance of Terrapin is certainly a lot more interesting than the song would become. in fact, besides 3/18/77, it's one of the only interesting performances to me. definitely an overrated song that's virtually devoid of any jamming; i actually prefer the studio version.
as far as 1977, it's hard to debate it being a great year, but i personally have begun to find the early years far more engaging...

That's funny what's written below. This is one of my favorite shows. The 70s dead was simply KIND!!!
In reply to the previous post, I'd just say a simple "no." Of course, it would never be accurate to say any year, show, song is superior to all others; BUT, can you sincerely dispute that '77 is LOADED with great shows, or that Terrapin is not a superb song, lyrically, rhythmically, instrumentally? This year, this show, and Terrapin, too, are K-I-L-L-E-R!!!

This show is the debut of Terrapin and Prophets, and right out of the shoot, terrapin sounds suprisingly developed for a debut. You can tell this is going ot be a show to remember.
Everyone is on top of their games on this night, typical. Typical of 77, the playing is intricate and tight, yet never fails to groove and jam to new and interesting spaces. The band is playing together as well as you'll ever hear. Don't miss this one
The only negative of this soundbard is that some songs are cut-off short, which is disapointing b/c it sounds like we're missing on on some good james
